Concert FAQs

Q: What time will the gates open?
A: The gates open at 4.30pm on Friday and Saturday

Q: What time will the music start and finish?
A: The music will start at approx. 6.00pm and should finish around 10.00pm. Entry into the stadium will not be permitted after 8.00pm. Timings may be subject to change.

Q: Can I bring an umbrella into the stadium?
A: Sorry but no umbrellas will be allowed into the stadium, this is to avoid anyone’s view being obscured and for safety reasons. We would suggest bringing a jacket with a hood. We will also have ponchos for sale inside the ground.

Q: I have standing tickets on the pitch can I bring a chair?
A: No chairs, including fold-up chairs, deckchairs etc can be brought into the stadium

Q: Can I bring a picnic?
A: Unfortunately food and drink will not be permitted into the football club, however there will be a wide range of food and drink concessions.

Q: If it rains will the concert still go ahead?
A: Yes the concert will go ahead in the rain. Concerts are only ever cancelled if the weather conditions make it dangerous.

The stadium is an open air venue so please prepared to enjoy the show whatever the weather and wear appropriate footwear – particularly if you are standing on the grass pitch.

Q: Where is the drop off for minibuses and coaches?
A: Coaches, Minibuses and Taxis should drop off adjacent to the stadium on Borough Road only. There will be clear signage . Please follow the instructions for the traffic stewards at all times.

*Q: Can I take photographs?
A: Yes but please note that no professional cameras are allowed

A: You can purchase Seated, Standing or VIP tickets.

Q: Where do I purchase VIP Tickets?
A: VIP hospitality packages include prime raised seats in the Main Stand, pre-concert dinner with complimentary drinks in the prestigious directors’ suites and boxes within the Platinum Lounge, plus complimentary VIP parking.

Please note: VIP tickets do not include meet and greet with the artists.

Q: Is there a booking fee?
A: For tickets purchased via Ticketmaster there is a booking fee on top of the ticket price – this is a standard booking fee that covers the ticket agency’s expenses.

Q: Is there a delivery charge?
A: Yes there is a delivery charge of £2.95 for seated tickets and £5.50 for standing. The fee for standing tickets is higher due to the purchaser having to sign for the tickets as we are unable to duplicate this type of ticket. People with lost or stolen tickets will not be permitted into the ground due to capacity and safety reasons.

Q: Which tickets are nearest the stage?
A: If you buy a standing ticket you will give be able to stand right in front of the stage if you arrive early enough! We also have VIP tickets with prime raised seats in the Main Stand on sale.

Q: Who are the support acts for Will Young?
A: China Crisis and Philippa Hanna are Will Young’s special guests. Drumming band Mersey Batala will also be helping to make it a real Party on the Pitch!

Q: Who are the support acts for Status Quo?
A: The Christians and Insanity Beach will be Status Quo’s special guests. Drumming band Mersey Batala will also be helping to make it a real Party on the Pitch!

Q: Is car parking available?
A: Yes, car parking is available for £5 per car next to the Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park Stadium off Prenton Park West, CH42 9PY.

Pre-booking is highly recommended as parking is restricted around the Stadium where a residents’ parking scheme is in operation.

Please note if you have not pre-booked car parking, it is very limited around the Stadium, so car sharing or public transport is advised. Coaches and minibuses to drop off only.

Q: I am disabled and need parking. What do I need to do?
A: Accessible parking is available free of charge for Blue Badge holders, immediately next to the Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park Stadium off Prenton Park West, CH42 9PY.

Pre-booking is highly recommended

When you pre-book accessible parking, you will be issued a parking pass to display alongside your blue badge in your car window.
Please note: If you have not pre-booked accessible parking, arriving early is recommended. You will need to have a current blue badge and show your concert ticket to the steward at the car park entrance.

Q: Is there a dedicated wheelchair area?
A: Yes, a dedicated wheelchair area is available, however, space is limited so early booking is essential. A free carer ticket is given with every purchased disabled ticket.

Q: Can I get to the Stadium by public transport?
A: Stagecoach Bus Services 38/38A, 471/472 and 41/41A/42 travel to Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park Stadium and the surrounding area.

All nearby train stations are on the Merseyrail Wirral Line.

The nearest train stations to Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park Stadium are Birkenhead Central Merseyrail station (approx. 30 mins. walk) or Conway Park Merseyrail Station (approx. 35 mins walk) or Rock Ferry Merseyrail station (approx. 25 mins walk).

There are good connections to bus services from the stations. The Birkenhead Bus Station is close to Conway Park Merseyrail Station (4 mins walk walk) and Birkenhead Central Merseyrail Station (approx. 8 mins walk).

Q: Is there any seating?
A: Yes, there is a choice of seating in the stands which will need to be purchased through Ticketmaster.

Q: Are children allowed?
A: Yes, children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult

Q: Where do the proceeds from the Wirral Rocks charity concerts go?
A: Wirral Rocks will raise funds for Wirral Hospice St John’s (Registered Charity No. 510643)

Wirral Hospice provides free care and support to adult patients with life-limiting illnesses including cancer, heart, liver and kidney disease, respiratory and neurological conditions. The Hospice provides care across a number of settings including a 16-bed Inpatient Ward, Outpatient Clinics, Day Therapy unit and our Hospice at Home service. Wirral Hospice also cares for and supports carers and loved ones: families are at the heart of everything we do here at Wirral Hospice St John’s.
It costs more than £3.5million a year to run the Hospice. Voluntary support & Fundraising activities like Wirral Rocks are essential in helping us to continue to provide care and support for our patients and their families. Thank you for your support.
